Nairobi - Daily Nation reports Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) on Wednesday called off the teachers' strike soon after Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi announced indefinite closure of public primary schools.
Knut officials agreed on a KES 16.2 billion deal which will be implemented in two faces by the government for the teachers' allowances.
They also agreed that the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) will release the teachers’ June salaries on Thursday and withdraw the contempt of court case against Knut officials.
