School term prolonged due to teachers' strike

Nairobi - Daily Nation reports school term has been prolonged by a week to enable learners to compensate the time lost during the teachers' strike.
According to an announcement by Education Cabinet Secretary Jacob Kaimenyi, the schools will now close on August 16 and not August 9 as it had been scheduled earlier.
He added that third term will also be extended by a week for the learners to fully recorver the lost time.
