School holidays for April might be short

Nairobi - The Standard reports the April school holidays might be shortened to allow syllabus coverage in readiness for end of year Kenya Certificate of Primary Education examination.
Kenya Primary Schools Heads Association (Kepsha) in consultation with the Ministry of Education are looking at available possibilities to help make up for the lost time during the nominations and General Election.
Kepsha chairman Joseph Karuga said that they are already in the process of registering this year’s candidates and are still behind in covering the syllabus, adding that Kenya National Examinations Council will not look at what the students have covered but rather what should have been covered by the end of the year, hence the need to exhaust all options available in covering for the lost time including the April holiday.
