08 August 2014, 17:44

Nairobi - A school bus carrying students and teachers has plunged down an escarpment in Nandi, in the Rift Valley, Friday afternoon, killing one person.

The accident took place at Chepsangor and involved a Booker Academy School Bus which was heading to Mombasa from Mumias town.

The driver of the bus is understood to have lost control, which saw the bus plunge into the deep valley.

The Kenya Red Cross who were at the scene, reported that 16 students and teachers were rushed to hospital with critical injuries, with one dead and four others taken to Eldoret to receive specialist treatment.
