Nairobi - Last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education ( KCSE) had an unlikely county emerging tops, Samburu County overcame the odds to beat well-endowed counties.
For the better part of last year, Samburu was in the news for all the wrong reasons especially insecurity, which led to the killing of more than 42 police officers at Baragoi, The Standard reports.
Cattle rustling incidents among pastoralist communities that reside in the area have been the norm with education taking a back seat, however, residents of the semi-arid county had a reason to smile on Friday, after Education minister Mutula Kilonzo announced it was the leading county countrywide.
