Nandi - Mps have endorsed an appeal by Rwanda to hire 4,000 teachers of English from Kenya saying it would help create jobs for graduate teachers, Daily Nation reports.
David Koech, chairman of Parliamentary Committee on Education said that they fully support the request by Rwanda to hire some 4,000 teachers of English from Kenya because Rwanda does not have enough trained teachers to teach in schools.
Speaking to teachers, parents and students at Kamonjil Secondary School in Nandi County, Koech said that there were thousands of trained teachers in Kenya who were jobless and since the government cannot employ all of them, countries within East Africa, and the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa region should be encouraged to hire them.
