Nairobi - Deputy President William Ruto will be heading back to Nairobi from The Hague, on Wednesday evening after the Office of the Prosecutor admitted that their witnesses were not ready.
According to Capital News, the prosecution's Senior Trial Attorney Anton Steynberg on Tuesday sought an adjournment of the trial, saying that their first expert witness will be arriving at The Hague on Thursday, and would be ready to testify by Tuesday next week.
This move comes barely hours after the commencement of the trials, and Ruto's lawyer Karim Khan took issue with the prosecution's lack of preparedness in the landmark case.
