Ruto opposes Bensouda's bid to amend charges

Nairobi - Deputy President William Ruto is seeking to block International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda from amending charges against him.
With his trial set to begin on September 10, Ruto has filed an application to the court’s judges asking them to reject Bensouda’s request to have rape, murder and deportation incidents included in his case, The Standard reports.
He argued that the inclusion would overburden his lawyers and his rights will also be unduly compromised.
