Ruto: Peace key to regional growth
29 July 2013, 18:16
Nairobi - Deputy President William Ruto has urged African leaders to spearhead efforts to stabilize and instil peace in war torn areas in Africa such as the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), the Central African Republic, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the Great Lakes Summit, Ruto said African countries must work together to address the conflicts that threaten the growth and prosperity of those countries, Capital News reports.
Ruto noted that the war turned away potential investors and dragged down the economies of the neighbouring African countries.
