Royal Media was illegally operating frequencies

Nairobi - Daily Nation reports after disabling 17 Royal Media Services frequencies, the government has come out to defend its move.

According to Information and Communications permanent secretary Bitange Ndemo and Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) company secretary John Omo, the frequencies were operating illegally and were a threat to the country’s airspace.

While addressing the weekly briefing on media monitoring on Wednesday, Ndemo told those unhappy with the shutting down to go to court instead of issuing inflammatory remarks.
