Nairobi - The public is being encouraged to visit shopping malls in the country by the government. The public has been keeping their distance since the Westgate
terror attack despite security being heightened, Capital FM reports.
Commerce and Tourism Cabinet Secretary Phyllis
Kandie was quoted as saying that owners are feeling the impact and are suffering losses to their income as the number of shoppers has decreased post the attack.
“In showing solidarity with the business owners at the malls we are
encouraging fellow shoppers to return to the shopping malls. Business
owners have suffered as a result of the attack making great losses
because few shoppers visit the malls.”, Kandie said.
