Residents force 12 to 'take the cut' after wives complaints

04 August 2014, 12:59

Moi's Bridge - At least 12 uncircumcised men were forced to face the cut as the circumcision season kicked off in Western Kenya.

The wives of the 12 men from different communities in Moi's Bridge are said to have revealed that their husbands were uncircumcised forcing residents to ambush them and force them to be circumcised, West FM reports.

The residents then contributed money and gave KES 3000 to each of them for treatment and other requirements during the healing process.

The residents vowed to continue with the process throughout the circumcision season to ensure that all men living in their midst are circumcised, even as reports emerged that more than 50 people from the region had taken refuge at a police station to avoid being forced to undergo the cut.
