Reprieve for Starehe principal as TSC rejects his suspension
13 March 2014, 14:42
Nairobi - The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has opposed the suspension of Starehe Boys Centre Principal Peter Mugo, following the school’s poor performance in last year’s KCSE results.
According to TSC, the school’s management did not have the authority to make such decisions without consulting the commission, which is the teachers’ employer, Daily Nation reports.
Mugo was sent on forced leave after the school failed to appear in the top ten best schools in the country during the results released last week, a normal preserve for the institution in past years.
Other senior officials too were sent home, with the accounts officer and the executive assistant to the Director too sent on leave.
