Kisumu - Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma has suspended six county officers for allegedly being involved in a scandal worth more than KES 1.2 billion.
Ranguma acted on the findings of an audit report carried out by the Transition Authority on assets and liabilities owned by all the 47 counties, The Standard reports.
The officers sent home are Adrian Ouma, Absalom Ayany, Peter Kayila, Bertha Odera, Maurice Matunga and Peter Ogada.
It is alleged that they tried to sell more than 500 houses and council estates with an estimated cost of more than KES 1.1 billion to private developers during the transition period without following the laid down procedure.
