Nairobi - The public has been requested to give their input on the Media Council Bill and Kenya Information and Communications (Amendment) Bill, which were formally submitted to the House before the relevant parliamentary committees give their reports.
The deadline for members of the public to submit their views to the office of the Clerk of the National Assembly on the Bill that seeks to amend the provisions in the Media Act of 1998 is August 26, Capital News reports.
Some of the proposals in the Media Council Bill is the establishment of the Media Council’s Complaints Commission to impose monetary fines, among other penalties, on media houses or journalists brought before it.
