Proudly Kenyan, very expensive

Nairobi – Reports by The Standard indicate many Kenyans will be trying to forget this year in a hurry as most consumers are being forced to dig deeper into their pockets to put food on the table, light their homes, travel, pay rent, and cater for such expenses as education, healthcare, and other household essentials.
Life has become more expensive and there is no sign of a reprieve for the consumers as the cost of living (inflation) in Kenya has been on an upward trend for the last 13 months.
Figures released on Tuesday by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) show that inflation for this month hit 19.72 per cent, an increase from 18.91 per cent last month.
