Nairobi - Nairobi Senator, Mike Mbuvi Sonko stopped the demolition of the Executive Estate in South B Wednesday after Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute (KVVPI) pulled down 25 houses which were allegedly built on grabbed land.
The demolition process had to be stopped temporarily following a directive issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta, The Standard reports.
According to a tweet posted by Citizen News, the Estate was set up on land grabbed from KVVPI.
“Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute demolish buildings to reclaim it's grabbed land in South B, Nairobi,” read the tweet.
Agriculture Cabinet Secretary, Felix Koskei who was present at the scene warned that all illegally alienated land in the area will soon be reclaimed.
He therefore advised those affected to seek legal redress by filing cases against those who sold them the land.
