Nairobi - The Facebook page belonging to political activist Moses Kuria has been taken down by the social media site, he has announced.
Kuria has in recent times put up controversial posts on his page that have been ridiculed by many and even come under the attention of the National Cohesion and Integration Commission NCIC.
Kuria was summoned to the commission after the Law Society of Kenya complained the comments amounted to hate speech, but he has since denied so and said he would post more if need be.
Kuria in his controversial post was critical of some communities in the country over their involvement in acts of terror.
And after the hullabaloo over his posts, he confirmed through his Twitter account Thursday that his Facebook account had been taken down.
" They have shut down my Facebook account. They can do that but they will not shut down my resolve. I will be back. I had just posted about me and Waititu inspecting KICC grounds and within less than 5
minutes the account was pulled down, he said.
He went on to further claim that the closure of his account had something to do with the opposition CORD coalition.
"Americans and CORD are determined
to expel me from social media, he alleged.
