Police say they lack funds to curb accidents

Nairobi - Police have failed to curb road accidents due to lack of enough funds.
Speaking when he appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Transport, Traffic commandant Samuel Kimaru said the traffic department was not well equipped to deal with the issue and also lacks the required tools to track careless drivers, Daily Nation reports.
According to statistics, road accidents have caused 2,425 deaths this year alone, the figure is higher than the deaths recorded over the same period last year.
