Police accused of neglecting ordinary Kenyans
13 September 2013, 11:11
Nairobi - A report has revealed how police casually handle crimes reported by ordinary Kenyans and quickly respond to crimes committed against prominent people.
According to the report that was conducted in 36 Counties by the Independent Policing Oversight Authority, most robbery with violence cases reported are not taken to court for trial and the few suspects charged are freed due to lack of evidence, Daily Nation reports.
Chairman of the authority’s Finance and Administration Committee Tom Kagwe added that police also look at who has reported a case before launching investigations.
