Nairobi - Kenya Power has attributed the Tuesday countrywide power blackout to a technical hitch on the grid, that has left many business operations down.
In a brief to The Standard, the company said the two transmission lines between the Olkaria geothermal load centre and Ndenderu sub-station near Nairobi tripped, while they were carrying 400 MW of electricity.
The 1.30 pm incident, led to the national interconnected grid and generating system tripping, causing a national power outage, although engineers are onsite.
