PSCU directors accuse Orengo of blackmail in Lamu land saga

Nairobi - Senior directors from the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) have claimed that Siaya Senator James Orengo confirmed his involvement in land grabbing in Lamu.
The directors accused the former Lands minister of dragging President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto into the alleged land scam without having enough evidence.
Orengo released a list of 1000 alleged Lamu land grabbers including the Deputy President and Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi.
The statement signed by seven PSCU directors, insisted that Orengo was out of line in accusing the president of blame in the Lamu land process and promised quick action in handling the matter.
" James Orengo's statement today has confirmed his role in the Lamu land grab. He has resorted to dropping names of the President and the Deputy President without giving an iota of proof,” the letter read.
The statement went on to rubbish Orengo's persona.
" Orengo has proven that he is a bogus reformer, fake liberator and counterfeit leader willing to hold and protect “a list of 1000 alleged land grabbers" in an effort to blackmail the government, it added.
Orengo has insisted that he does not fear police investigation into the alleged deals and has said he will cooperate, something the statement aluded to.
" The Siaya Senator should prepare to record a statement with the Criminal Investigation Department on what he knows not just about the Lamu land grab, but everything else,” it threatened.
