20 July 2015, 09:14 Pauline Nyumu

Nairobi - The US President, Barack Obama will make a speech at the Safaricom Arena, Moi International Sports Centre, the Head of the Presidential Strategic Communication Unit (PSCU) Manoah Esipisu has said.

Obama is expected to grace the 6th Global Entrepreneurship Summit that is set for July 24-26 at the UN compound in Gigiri.

About 300 000 delegates are expected at the summit.

On Saturday, he will hold bilateral talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House Nairobi, followed by a joint press conference.

Confirming the meeting, Esipisu said:  “Kenya and the United States have enjoyed a long history of traditionally strong friendship and partnership, and we will be looking to build on this during President Obama’s visit.”

On Sunday, Obama will make the address at Safaricom Stadium in Kasarani.

However, Esipisu said the government does not have further details about the speech, a subject he said will be addressed by the US ambassador Robert Godec and Foreign Affairs CS, Amina Mohamed later this week.
