Nurses and varsity workers threaten to strike

Nairobi - Once again, trouble looms in health and education sectors after nurses, lecturers and university non-academic staff threaten to go on strike.

The Standard reports that the workers, through their unions, issued Government with a one-week strike notice, noting it has failed to implement pay packages and address various issues agreed upon during recent strikes.

University Staff Academic Union (Uasu), Universities Non-Teaching Staff Union (Untesu) and Kenya Union of Domestic Hotels Education Institutions Hospitals and Allied Workers (Kudheiha) accused Government of lack of commitment to implement agreed pay packages.
