Number of expectant mothers at Pumwani doubles
05 June 2013, 10:21
Nairobi - Daily Nation reports the number of expectant mothers visiting the Pumwani Maternity Hospital has doubled after the government abolished maternity charges.
According to administrators at the hospital, the number of expectant mothers it receives on a normal day has increased and are fearing that they may be exhausted.
The mothers formed long queues at the hospital, forcing scheduled operations to be postponed as midwives attended to emergency cases.
