Nkaissery extends curfew in four counties

Nairobi - The curfew that was imposed on Garissa, Mandera,Wajir and Tana River Counties due to cases of insecurity has been extended by one month.
The curfew which was imposed by Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett following the Garissa University terror attack that left 147 people dead, was due to expire on 16 May , 2015, but Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery extended it in a Special Gazzette Notice dated 15 May, 2015, The Standard reported.

According to the CS, the new curfew runs from 17 May to 16 June, 2015, when he will decide whether to again extend it or not depending on security situation in the affected areas.
