Meru - Meru police has confirmed that a New Zealand national has been arrested on alleged child trafficking and pornography charges, Standard Digital reports.
Reports in the media suggested the man was arrested after being in the company of two teenage sisters at a mall in the town. This is the second case of a foreigner involved in child trafficking, in 2007, a German man was arrested and charged with sexually exploiting two trafficked children from Nyanza.
And in October it was reported that two men who dressed as a woman to avoid capture were the masterminds behind trafficking disabled people. The duo later handed themselves in to police, they were from Tanzania and Kenya respectively.
