Nairobi - Consumers are at a high risk of getting serious health problems from contaminated chicken sold in butcheries, supermarkets and retail outlets in Nairobi.
According to a research that was conducted by the Kenya Medical Research institute (KEMRI), the meat is contaminated by disease causing germs and some do not immediately respond to common medicines, The Standard reports.
The researchers was funded by the World Health Organisation and the Food and Agriculture Organisation and led by Dr Samuel Kariuki of KEMRI.
