Nabutola, Ong’ong’a jailed

Nairobi - Former Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) Managing Director Achieng Ong’ong’a and former Tourism Permanent Secretary Rebecca Nabutola are to serve jail terms after they were found guilty of defrauding the ministry of KES8.9 million.
According to Capital News, Nabutola was sentenced to four years and is required to pay a fine of KES1 million and in default serve a further two years in jail, whilst Ong’ong’a got three years and a fine of KES 1.5 million or serve two more years.
Tour Operator Duncan Muriuki was sent to prison for seven years without the option of a fine, and he is to also pay KES17.8 million in fines or serve three years in default.
