NGO bill chucked out by MP's

Nairobi - Cord MP's came to the rescue of NGO's as they denied the government to pass a bill that would suffocate funding to non-governmental organisations, reports the Nation.
Lat month parliament set its sights on NGOs, drawing up a law that would
place them under government management and, notably, restrict their
ability to receive funds from overseas donors -- a key source of cash
for many rights groups and anti-corruption watchdogs.
MP's unanimously rejected the bill when they were asked to vote in its second reading.
