Most Kenyans want President Kenyatta to stand trial: poll

Nairobi - A new poll says two out of three people want to see President Uhuru Kenyatta report to the International Criminal Court to respond to charges of crimes against humanity.
The poll released Thursday by Ipsos Synovate found that 67 percent of 2,060 people surveyed think that President Kenyatta should attend his trial.
The court last month postponed the trial until February, but the African Union is pressuring the court for a one-year deferral.
The U.N. Security Council on Friday will vote on the deferral. Amnesty International urged a no vote, saying that victims of Kenya's 2007-08 post-election violence have waited too long for justice.
More than 1,000 people died during tribe-on-tribe attacks.
Thursday's opinion poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.2 percentage points.
