Monday a public holiday, government confirms

Nairobi - The government has confirmed that Monday 2 June 2014 is a public holiday.
The occurrence will be because Sunday 1 June is Madaraka day and thus the holiday will revert to Monday, according to the constitution.
The Madaraka day celebrations though, will be held Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium, led by president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Security has already started being beefed up in Nairobi with the scheduled CORD rally which is set to take place Saturday.
