Mombasa County govt threatens to sack striking workers

Mombasa - The county government of Mombasa has threatened to take disciplinary action against health workers who are on strike over pay.
The county’s acting Health Executive Tendai Mtana issued the warning to the workers on Wednesday saying they have already been paid but they have refused to return to work, Daily Nation reports.

The workers said they want to sign a return to work formula which assures them that they will be paid their allowances that were not included in the salaries they were paid in July.
The officials of their union are also demanding to sign the agreement to ensure that the members will not be punished for taking part in the strike.
