Missing Embu County Speaker found dumped in Limuru

Nairobi - Embu County Speaker Kariuki Mate, who mysteriously disappeared on Monday was found dumped in Limuru on Thursday night.

Police say Mate was picked up by a lorry driver who was driving to Nairobi, The Standard reports.
The driver took him to Gigiri police station in unconscious state and was later rushed to the Aga Khan Hospital where he is currently admitted.
A Nairobi court Thursday charged Nicholas Muriuki, a Criminal Investigation (CID) officer with the alleged kidnap of the speaker on May 19, 2014 at Utalii Hotel in Nairobi County where he was attending a meeting to discuss the county’s budget for the coming financial year.
Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Peter Ndwiga dismissed an application by the prosecution that he be remanded in police custody as investigations are not complete and released him on KES 100, 000 bond.
