Media Bill amended after consultations

Nairobi - The Standard reports the Media Bill that media owners had said was a threat to media freedom has been amended by the government.
The government published and circulated the final drafts of the Media Bill 2013 after consulting stakeholders in the media industry.
ICT Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i said he was happy after the changes were made and promised to work with media stakeholders to ensure media freedom as stipulated in the Constitution.
