Matatu operators urge police to boost checks at boarding points

Nairobi - Matatu Welfare Association Chair, Dickson Mbugua has urged the police to boost checks at major matatu boarding points along the highways.
Mbugua’s call comes at the height of terrorist attacks on passengers with the latest case being the twin explosions along Thika Superhighway on Sunday night.
Daily Nation reports that security checks have been bolstered in all bus terminuses in town, though most matatus make several stops on the way, which Mbugua says gives leeway to terrorists who pose as innocent commuters to launch their attacks.
