Matatu operators charged over Thika Road blasts

Nairobi - A court has charged five matatu operators with failing to screen passengers and their luggage before the blasts that ripped two buses along Thika Road on Sunday.
The five, two drivers and three conductors denied the charge and were ordered to deposit personal bonds of KES 5 million each with two sureties of similar amounts, Daily Nation reports.
At least three people were killed when the two buses were struck by explosive devices, the day after attacks in Mombasa.
Police believed that the attackers had planted improvised explosive devices inside the buses, posing as passengers.
