Nyamira - A family in Nyamira is mourning the death of a man who allegedly gave KES 300,000 bribe to police officers for his daughter to be recruited into the police force but she failed.
The man is said to have collapsed and died when his daughter was sent to collect some documents she had forgotten to carry along with her to the recruitment centre, Daily Nation reports.
She did not make it to the force after she failed the medical test.
Doctors said he had died of diabetes but sources said he had bribed some officers who were carrying out the exercise for his daughter to get the police job.
On Tuesday, Nandi Hills MP, Alfred Keter called on the National Police Service Commission to suspend the recruitment exercise saying the exercise was marred with corruption.
