Man denies burning Kiambaa church

19 September 2013, 14:09

Eldoret - Stephen Chemalan Leting, the man who the first ICC witness said saw burning people in a church in Kiambaa during the 2007/8 post election violence has said he is innocent.

According to Chemalan, his innocence was proved when he was set free by the High Court due to lack of evidence in the murder charges he was facing in relation to the attack, The Standard reports.

He termed the evidence as unreliable, adding that they are not on trial at The Hague and that ICC is not an appellate court to reverse the verdict that was given by the High Court.
