Man confesses to using bhang as vegetables

Nyeri - A man admitted to cooking bhang leaves and eating them with ugali after he was arrested with the plant’s seedlings by police in Nyeri County.
The suspect also confessed to planting the crop in the Aberdare Forest and is suspected to be the main supplier of the drug in the area, The Star reports.
According to him, he gets extra energy from the meal which he takes on a daily basis.
Last year, a Rastafarians movement from the county called on the government to legalise the crop saying it is a holy herb and not a drug.
They said some developing countries had already legalized the herb and urged the government to do the same.
They said it was not wrong to smoke it since the Bible allows the use of natural herbs and that smoking bhang does not affect ones' health.
