Kisumu - Officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) arrested a man for allegedly soliciting money from a patient who required blood transfusion.
It is alleged that, the man, an intern at the Kisumu East Hospital, demanded for the bribe from the patient’s relatives in order to speed up the blood transfusion process, which had delayed, The Standard reports.
According to EACC Kisumu regional manager, Charles Rusungu, the patient’s family members had already donated the blood, but the man kept on asking for the bribe and that is when they decided to report the matter to the EACC.
EACC later laid a trap and nabbed the man while taking the bribe from the family.
