Nairobi - The Standard reports the Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution (CIC) has vowed to go to court if MPs agree to raise their salaries above the one set by Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).
This comes after National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi insisted that MPs will be get their “previous salaries” of KES 851,000 set by the Parliamentary Service Commission and not the KES 532,000 set by SRC.
According to CIC chairperson Charles Nyachae, the MPs move would be unconstitutional and illegal.
