Nairobi - The Justice and Legal Affairs Committee won't be proceeding with the probe into the suspension of Judiciary Chief Registrar Gladys Shollei by the Judicial Service Commission who never heeded to its summons.
Daily Nation reports that Chief Justice Willy Mutunga and 10 members of JSC failed to appear before the parliamentary committee as ordered on Thursday, and instead wrote to the National Assembly restating their earlier position that the matter was under consideration by the court.
On Friday Shollei’s lawyers and those of the JSC are set to register their agreement on an out-of-court settlement they have been negotiating which resulted in her resuming her duties at the judiciary.
