Low population growth in central region

Nyeri - During the celebration of World population Day in the county, a demographer stated that alcoholism should not be blamed on the low population growth, The Standard reported.
This is due to a high usage of birth control and not because of alcoholism.
People in the are region are said to have a high literacy levels as a result this has contributed to a lot of women using birth control.
The demographer explained at that it is a myth that alcohol is the main reason why the region is not expanding in terms of population.
Also it is stated alcoholism has made many people not get married because women do not want to be with men who abuse alcohol.
