Land raising political heat

Nairobi - Daily Nation reports the current squatter crisis is due to skewed land allocations since independence.
According to a report by a Commission of Inquiry into Allocation of Land, popularly known as the Ndung’u, the land problem can be traced to allocations that only benefited public officers and influential individuals.
Also affected were forests, national parks and game reserves, wetlands, riparian reserves and protected areas as well as land meant for military facilities and other public amenities.
