LSK wants traffic commandant sacked
30 August 2013, 12:02
Nairobi - Law Society of Kenya chairman Eric Mutua wants traffic commandant, Samuel Kimaru, to explain the steps he has taken to stop road accidents in the country or else be fired.
According to LSK, road accidents have killed 1,731 people and left more than 12,000 others with serious injuries since the start of this year because of failure to enforce traffic act and law, The Standard reports.
LSK is also accusing the commandant for encouraging corruption since no action has been taken against traffic police officers, who take bribes on the roads hence putting passengers' lives at risk.
