Nairobi - The Law Society of Kenya LSK has handed security bosses Joseph Ole Lenku and David Kimaiyo a 14 day ultimatum to resign from office over negligence.
The clamour for the two to resign has risen in recent months over the poor handling of security in the country.
The recent attacks in Mpeketoni along the Coast which have seen close to 70 people killed and many more missing have put the spotlight further on the two bosses.
Ole Lenku, who runs the interior security docket and Kimaiyo who is the police boss are directly in-charge of the nation's security and LSK boss Eric Mutua says that enough is enough.
" The state of the nation's insecurity is out of hand and totally out of control and the persons in-charge have shown that they cannot do a job, he said in a statement.
Kenyans on social media have already called on the two to be sacked by president Uhuru Kenyatta but they are both yet to be removed, despite the escalation of insecurity in the country.
