Nairobi - The perpetrators of hate speech on social media could soon be arrested after the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) asked the Director of Public Prosecution to take action against them.
In a letter addressed to the DPP Keriako Tobiko, LSK CEO Apollo Mboya warned that some posts were meant to incite the public and if this is not stopped then the country could be plunged into ethnic chaos, Daily Nation reports.
LSK singled out some individuals who have been posting inflammatory posts on facebook and together with the comments on the posts.
Mboya wants the DPP to direct the Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo to investigate the posts and take action against those who posted them.
