Knut set to announce teachers' strike

Nairobi - The Standard reports Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) chairman Wilson Sossion is set to call for a nationwide teachers' strike.
Sossion said that Knut will announce the strike today after a vote by the National Executive Council (NEC) which will be meeting at the union's headquarters.
According to Sossion, Knut will no longer engage the government on demands for higher allowances and hiring of 40,000 additional teachers.
