Knut calls for teachers' strike
24 June 2013, 12:14
Nairobi - Daily Nation reports the Kenya National Union of Teachers (Knut) on Monday called for a countrywide teachers' strike after the government failed to pay allowances.
Since 2007, the teachers have downed their tools seven times, pushing for pay demands.
According to Knut national chairman Wilson Sossion, the government is playing
politics on the matter since they are bound by the Notice 534 of 1997.
